Help us test 1,500 people at our Anonymous HIV Screening Centre

PT Foundation needs your help to support our FREE anonymous HIV screening programme at our centre in Chow Kit. By knowing our HIV status we are all more protected from the spread of HIV.

This initiative is partially subsidized by the government but we need an additional RM10 per test to provide a fully comprehensive service. Our AIM is to do 1,500 anonymous HIV tests which amounts to raising RM15,000.00. To date, our volunteer counsellors have tested over 2,000 Malaysians in a safe, confidential environment.

Why is anonymous HIV testing important?

1. People who are uncertain whether they are HIV+ or not, can test privately and anonymously, without having to walk into a public hospital or clinic with the fear of being recognised or ridiculed

2. Not knowing whether one is HIV+ or not, will increase the risk of infection spreading further through future sexual encounters

Organization Overview	:	PT Foundation (previously known as Pink Triangle Sdn Bhd) is a community-based, voluntary non-profit making organization providing HIV/AIDS education, prevention, care and support programmes, sexuality awareness and empowerment programmes for vulnerable communities in Malaysia. We work with 5 vulnerable communities mainly drug users, sex workers, transsexuals, men who have sex with men (MSM), and people living with HIV/AIDS (PLHIV).

Mission	:	Our mission is to be the most efficient community-based organization providing information, education and care services relating to HIV/AIDS and sexuality in Malaysia, working with communities that are difficult to reach due to societal discrimination.

Objectives	:	We are committed to create an enabling environment for marginalized communities to feel safe and empowered to look after themselves: To help minimize the rate of infection of HIV/AIDS amongst our communities To help provide care and support and improve the quality of life for people living with HIV/AIDS To help reduce discrimination of our communities that is based on ignorance and lack of information

History	:	Since Pink Triangle (PT Foundation former name) was founded in 1987 to provide telephone counselling about HIV/AIDS and sexuality, it has expanded its services responding to the needs and concerns of various communities that are discriminated against because of HIV, AIDS and/or sexuality.
